General Description:The Fir and Pine trees are often confused, largely due to the cutting which occurs in inhospitable regions. The difference is usually registered by the composition of the oil and the name, but even here it can be confusing. The needles (leaves) and twigs are used after the trees are felled for lumber. In general the trees are alternatively felled so that there is a constant supply and regeneration is normal practice
