INCI Name: Hamamelis virginiana

Description: The leaves and bark produce an astringent which was used medicinally by American indians and used widely in a variety of healthcare products. Mainly used externally on sores, bruises, and swelling. Witch hazel is used in skin care. It is a strong anti-oxidant and astringent, which makes it very useful in fighting acne, psoriasis and  eczema. Also used in aftershave applications to prevent sweating of the face, cracked or blistered skin. It treats insect bites, poison ivy and as a treatment for varicose veins and hemorrhoids
