Greetings !
Welcome to the new Butterbur and Sage website. It is hoped that the wide range of products will enable aromatherapists and therapists to choose from the wide range available for their clinics.
There is an enormous choice of essential oils, carrier oils, basic
non-fragranced cosmetics and many other ingredients.
Our choices are often determined by the need to supply every oil, but from time to time there are some oils which become unobtainable. Indian Sandalwood is one such oil. This has not been produced for several years in order to preserve stocks of the trees.
Other oils such as Rosewood are being grown under special regimes, which eventually hope to use saplings for their twigs and leaves. At every stage the company has supported the conservation of aromatic plants and indeed have a long history of support, the most recent being the outstanding work done by the Forestry Department of Manaus University in Brazil. We urge all therapists to support this work.
For many years we have been active in support of the banning of all animal testing and we are members of the Natures Watch for supplying both Vegetarian and Vegan Products.
Over the years the term 'Organic' has been bandied about so much that even growers now realise that it has lost much of its original meaning. Many English Growers of essential oil plants have now left the current definitions and it is hoped that the new company definition will clear up much of the mis-information which can be found.
