| Beeswax is a very ancient cosmetic material derived from the honeycomb of the bee (apis mellifera) and for each 8 parts of honey produced, only one part of wax is produced. Crude beeswax is dark amber in colour and contains all kinds of impurities. Commercial beeswax comes in two forms - yellow and white. White beeswax is bleached by oxidising agents, though occasionally by the sun. It comes in the form of small pellets which can easily be mixed into a cosmetic.
